Proof of adequate English proficiency is required from all non-native English speaking applicants. Applicants who are uncertain whether they are required to submit proof of English proficiency are encouraged to contact the Office of International Programs.
Students who do not meet the English proficiency requirement may apply for CONDITIONAL ADMISSION.
English Language Proficiency Tests Accepted by UW-Superior
NOTE: Only test scores sent directly from the testing body are accepted. Applicants are encouraged to request their results be sent to UW-Superior at the time of testing if possible. Applicants will not be penalized for an unacceptable result if an acceptable result is received at a later date.
Internet-based Test (iBT): 61

Pre 1st Grade
WESLI Recommendation
Applicants who study at the Wisconsin English as a Second Language Institute (http://www.wesli.com/) can satisfy the English proficiency requirement by 1) receiving the WESLI Recommendation, 2) scoring at least 76 on the Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency and 3) earning a rating of good or excellent on the 700-level academic reading and writing courses.
