International students from Canada and Latin America are eligible to apply for TAP Grants which waive $7500 of non-resident tuition. Estimated expenses for the nine-month 2008-09 academic calendar year for an international undergraduate student from Canada or Latin America who is awarded a TAP Grant by the University of Wisconsin-Superior:

Undergraduate Tuition/Fees (per year)*

$14,135*

Tuition Award Program

($7500)

Residence Hall/Meal Plan (double room)

$5,160

TOTAL Tuition/Fees/Room/Board

$11,795

*Undergraduate tuition is based on the number of credit hours taken each semester. These figures are for full-time students (12-18 credits per semester) enrolled for a full academic year.

The figures above do not include MEDICAL INSURANCE, which costs $840 for the 2008-09 academic year, or BOOKS & SUPPLIES, for which students should budget approximately $900 per year. Also not included above are PERSONAL & TRAVEL EXPENSES, which each individual student ultimately determines. We estimate that students should budget at least $1,600 per year for these.

Estimated cost per year*: $22,635

Estimate cost per year if awarded $7500 TAP Grant*: $15,135

*Includes tuition, fees, residence hall, meals, insurance, books, supplies, and personal expenses as indicated above. Does not include summer-related expenses. These figures are used for Form I-20 purposes.

Note that in the United States, the average increase for university tuition is 6%. In recent years, increases for UW- Superior international students have been slightly below the national average.

The most up-to-date information about tuition and fees can be accessed on our Bursar's Office website.
