Approximately every two years, two of the university's large ensembles go on a tour of a foreign country.  It is the music department's goal that every music student involved in large ensembles should have the opportunity to perform abroad at least once during their time at UWS.  Previous tours include one taken in 2002 to Austria and Slovakia, one taken in 2006 to Brazil, and most recently, one in 2008 to China.

The next tour is scheduled for the spring of 2010, and will involve both the symphonic band and the jazz ensemble.  The location of the tour is yet to be determined.
